Introduction:

Mashable is a global, multi-platform media and entertainment company. Powered by its own proprietary technology, Mashable is the go-to source for tech, digital culture and entertainment content for its dedicated and influential audience around the globe.

Mashable was created by Pete Cashmore from his home in Aberdeen, Scotland, in July 2005. Time noted Mashable as one of the 25 best blogs in 2009, and it has been described as a "one stop shop" for social media. As of November 2015, it has over 6,000,000 Twitter followers and over 3,200,000 fans on Facebook. In June 2016, it acquired YouTube channel CineFix from Whalerock Industries.

In December 2017, Ziff Davis bought Mashable for $50 million, which several publications referred to as a "fire sale" price down from its peak valuation of $250 million. Mashable was not meeting its advertising targets, and was losing money, with $4.2 million losses in the quarter ending September 2017. After the sale, Mashable laid off 50 staffers, although Ziff Davis insisted on keeping top management. Because of the drop in value, stock options issued to employees during Mashable's successful times were worthless.

The Rock is too pure for this world.  Dwayne Johnson — or as he called himself in an Instagram post on Monday, Dwanta Claus — gave his stunt double a new truck when he returned after suffering an injury on set. Tanoai Reed, who's also Jonhson's cousin, thought he was about to shoot a behind the scenes clip when he was surprised
It can be as simple (and stinky) as forgetting leftovers in the back seat, or as tragic and terrifying as leaving a pet or young child sitting in the back while a car heats up in the summer sun. That's where Nissan's "smart" alert system comes in. Nissan's rear door alert — or RDA — system was first introduced in the Nissan Pathfinder
A federal judge temporarily blocked the release of blueprints for 3D-printed guns on Tuesday, only a day before they were supposed to be made public.  Defense Distributed reached a settlement with the U.S. State Department last month which would've allowed it to release blueprints for guns — including AR-15-like rifles — that
Some spoilers for Mission: Impossible – Fallout ahead. The Mission: Impossible series is one of the rare cinematic universes that doesn’t put too much stock in its own continuity.  The only common cast members in all six films are Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames. The movies rarely reference events that happened previously in the
When Dietland premiered on AMC, its cutting perspective on women's media and the overarching violence of the patriarchy made for an off-kilter, important-seeming entry into the summer TV lineup.  SEE ALSO: 7 summer TV shows for the 7 kinds of people out there Over the course of the first season, protagonist Plum Kettle was truly put through
The drone known as the DJI Mavic Pro has aged well since 2016 — but guess what: There are two successors on the horizon. From: Mashable By Patrick Kulp Recommended by: Mashable How do you compete with Amazon and Walmart? That's the question ringing in the ears of everyone who works in U.S. retail. Amazon's blockbuster $13.7 billion deal to buy Whole Foods solidified the notion that the retail giant is not content to just dominate ecommerce—it's
If you feel like you see bad news every time you log onto social media, you're not alone. Going on Twitter can be an overwhelming experience, with constant arguments, drama, and snitch tagging. Memes are the only thing holding the internet together at this point.  It's been a stressful year so far, but at least we have these memes! Let's take

There's a reason why we still can't resist a cartoon clip, episode, or feature film. Research shows moving colored images are one the of first things to capture a child's attention, so it's no wonder animations are one of the most powerful marketing tools available — whether you're looking to woo children or adults. Brands are putting the
