Introduction:

Mashable is a global, multi-platform media and entertainment company. Powered by its own proprietary technology, Mashable is the go-to source for tech, digital culture and entertainment content for its dedicated and influential audience around the globe.

Mashable was created by Pete Cashmore from his home in Aberdeen, Scotland, in July 2005. Time noted Mashable as one of the 25 best blogs in 2009, and it has been described as a "one stop shop" for social media. As of November 2015, it has over 6,000,000 Twitter followers and over 3,200,000 fans on Facebook. In June 2016, it acquired YouTube channel CineFix from Whalerock Industries.

In December 2017, Ziff Davis bought Mashable for $50 million, which several publications referred to as a "fire sale" price down from its peak valuation of $250 million. Mashable was not meeting its advertising targets, and was losing money, with $4.2 million losses in the quarter ending September 2017. After the sale, Mashable laid off 50 staffers, although Ziff Davis insisted on keeping top management. Because of the drop in value, stock options issued to employees during Mashable's successful times were worthless.

A year after Google convinced me to ditch my iPhone 6S for a Pixel 2, it had the chance to win me over again with the Pixel 3. It didn't close the deal. The Pixel 2 is so good, and the upgrades the Pixel 3 provides that I most want are coming soon to Pixel 2 — everything else seems incremental. After watching Google's Tuesday event, I know
Snapchat just took a big step forward in its bid to reinvent TV. The company announced a new lineup of original shows, both scripted and unscripted, that will debut on Wednesday. The shows, now branded as "Snap Originals," will be promoted prominently within the app and will receive prominent placement in Snapchat's Discover section. SEE ALSO:

When I went to the hospital to give birth to my first child, I tried to get through labor without an epidural. A nurse came into my room and watched me grimace with pain during a contraction. I was convinced that good moms didn’t give their kids drugs before they’re even born. The nurse asked me, “Do you routinely punch yourself
Shared rides on Uber and Lyft are a fairly easy way to save some cash on your Saturday night trip home. There's just one caveat: While you are sitting in the car, one or two other people — strangers — are sitting in the car, too. What's more, they might want to talk to you. Are you obligated to talk to them? Of course, people with

Despite the fact that hiring managers now ask for a variety of application materials, resumes are still an extremely important part of the process. And because they're so important, people usually feel the need to use old-fashioned, stilted, and even cliché language when writing them. While this might not sound like a huge issue, take a moment to

Even if you have a trusty building security guard, multiple locks on your door, and a dog, there might still be intruders determined to break into your home and wreak havoc. Imagine what sorts of cool tech inventions you could produce if only you had the tools and resources. You could maybe build a laptop that dispenses pizza (with the option to exclude pineapples, of course), or a physical shopping cart that automatically calculates the total price of its contents. If you're like most people, the last time you
We're pretty obsessed with everything Apple makes, but nothing more so than the AirPods. They're small, wireless, non-invasive earbuds that make for the perfect companion to your new iPhone. Unfortunately, Apple doesn't exactly like offering discounts on them, so any deal is worth taking note of.  SEE ALSO: Best deals for Sept. 21: Save on
For all its behind-the-scenes innovation, Google Search has looked more or less the same for the last 20 years: You type some words in a search box and get back a list of links.  The company's added lots of bells and whistles over the years, but the core concept has remained the same and the experience has pretty much looked the same. But
