“After losing my way in life, just a bit, I re-launched a writing career—a childhood dream—and began to send work to literary magazines. I was bursting with hope for affirmation of my great skill and broad experience. Editors would be glad I sent them work. I would be a literary star. I sent out stories and essays confidently
“The number of articles about successful people’s habits are innumerable. Dating back to The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People by Stephen Covey, we’ve been obsessed with what it takes to do well. But for most people who work in large organizations, it is not that easy. Their lives are not defined by the ability to design their
“It may seem like everyone has a blog, or a social channel they want you to follow, and that’s because it’s true. It has never been easier to turn your expertise into a revenue stream and becoming an influencer will help you do just that. Let’s start with the most important questions: What exactly are influencers and why
“In 1968, Andy Warhol proclaimed, ‘In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.’ With the advent of memes and viral videos, we now live in that future—one in which any trending joe (or his grumpy cat) can make a quick buck. So why is all this short-termism leaving so many of us feeling shortchanged? We now

Everyone desires to win in life; we all want to be successful in everything we do. It is no secret that everyone, whether young or old wants to be champions
“No matter how you’ve come to entrepreneurship, you may find yourself needing some direction. You’re just trying to figure it out as you go, and guess what—so is everyone else! This manifesto is here to give you the guidance you crave and to let you know we’re in it together. Being boss is a constant practice, and

“Whatever the cause, the moment will come, and you will find your company in a shift from selling a lot of your current offering – let’s call it X – and a little bit of something new called Y. Eventually, if your change strategy works, your company will sell a lot of Y and much less of the X legacy offering. X and Y can be
“The U.S. business community is facing a war of intelligence attrition. Fortune 500s will see countless experienced knowledge workers walk out the door over the next two decades. The U.S. Armed Forces are losing millions of officers and key personnel to retirement. For even those companies that thrive on innovation, the numbers are daunting
“You’re an expert or manager in, say, marketing, IT or distribution. Maybe you’re even the head of that function—the CMO, CTO or Distribution Director. You and your team have come up with a great idea that—if executed—will significantly benefit the company. But, like most important proposals, in order to be
“There is a new wave of innovation taking place inside many organizations that gives people an opportunity to make important, innovative contributions to business and to society. My beliefs about innovation have evolved and are now centered on three basic tenets: Most of us can be far more innovative in business than we give ourselves
“Everyone seems to be talking about diversity these days. Tech companies have pulled back the curtain to reveal how white and male they are. Indian firms are scrambling to appoint female board members in order to abide by new laws. European and North American multinationals are hiring executives from emerging markets. And even Hollywood is
“It has come like a thunderbolt. Some of our most esteemed companies in the new economy woke up and discovered that their workforce was overwhelmingly male (70% at Google, for example) and it was difficult to find more than a handful of women at the top. These companies recognize this is a big problem, and they plan to do something serious to
